FAQ

  1. What is this site about?
This site is an archive for X-Files Slash Fanfiction rated PG-13 or less, stories that focus on the relationship, not the sex. Sex is great, no argument there, but there's lots of other archives with R and NC-17 stories. Check out The Basement if that's what you're looking for.

  2. What is Slash Fanfiction?
Slash is generally defined as fan fiction featuring romantic pairings of same-sex characters from TV, movies, or other media. If you're still unclear, read T'Mar's What Slash Is.

  3. Are you affiliated with The X-Files, TenThirteen Productions, or the Fox Network?
Nope. Alex Krycek and all the X-Files characters are owned by TenThirteen Productions and the Fox Network. No copyright infringement intended. I do this as a hobby, not to make money.

  4. Where does the word 'slipper' come from?
As defined by Drovar, a Slipper is someone who reads and/or writes relationship based slash fan fiction rather than slash-erotica. Hence, Slash + Shipper = Slipper

  5. Who's this Drovar you mention every now and then?
Drovar is Shael's best male online buddy. The Slipper Archive was originally his idea. He passed the control of the archive onto Shael (aka Ratlover), and now he runs The Ferret Cage, a Jeffrey Spender Archive. Shael has since passed the Slipper Archive on to me, alice ttlg, since real life prevented her from being able to keep it up to date. I hope to keep the archive active and add more Slipper stories!

  6. And you are?
I am alice ttlg (through the looking glass), I run The Basement, the primary X-Files slash archive, and Vox Populli, where I host a bunch of websites, some slash, some for friends and some of my own. Shael also passed on All Things Rat to me, an archive of Alex Krycek fiction, sounds, pictures and artwork.

  7. I want my stories archived here, how do I submit them?
Check out the submission page to upload your stories to the archive.

  8. But what if my story is rated R or NC-17?
Sorry, I won't archive it then. Yes, I know it's arbitrary, but hey, that's how Drovar and Shael set it up and I like it. :) You can still submit your story to the Basement for m/m slash or to ScullySlash for f/f slash.

  9. Wasn't this site on Geocities?
Yes. Drovar hosted it on his Geocities space, and then Shael moved it to her Geocities space. When the new TOS went into effect when Yahoo merged with Geocities, Shael moved it to her website away from Geocities in protest. Then, when she passed the archive on to me, I moved it to my domain, DitB.org, where I host a variety of X-Files websites.
